Commencement Day

Hi. I’m antisocial, but you can just call me Linds. However, know that if you actually call I’m probably not going to pick up because that phone call could have been a text. I’m your typical twentysomething residing in sunny Florida and trying to figure out this painfully awkward thing we like to call “life”.  I’m an aspiring author, artist, and a self-proclaimed dog lover—trust me, this sums me up pretty well. 

Welcome to my very first blog and follow me on the magical, mystical (are you convinced yet?) journey that lies ahead. Like me, this blog will mostly be an eclectic collection of topics. You can expect lots of posts on writing, art/crafting, travel, etc.

If you haven’t figured out by now, I am unapologetically sarcastic, creative, and just a tad bit—or more—weird. I hope to be able to make you laugh, but I also hope to inspire and encourage you to work towards your goals.

Tropical Flamingo Party

Let's Flamingle! I graduated college in May and, per the usual fashion, had a graduation party in July. Because I have a weird obsession (don’t judge me) with flamingos and because I’m extra (sue me) my graduation party was a tropical/flamingo extravaganza. I don’t think anyone has ever seen more flamingos. After spending countless hours pinning every flamingo thing I found on Pinterest it was time to hit the stores. I visited Joann Fabrics, Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Old Time Pottery, Party City, and the Dollar Store. I apologize in advance for some of the lighting in the photos. Everything in the above photo I found in the "Dollar Spot" at Target. It's a great place to find cheap decorations for any event. DIY Sugar Skull Cakes

With Halloween creeping around the corner it's the perfect time to start thinking about what kind of spooky desserts you can present at your party. Or maybe you just want to get into that Halloween spirit. Luckily for you, I'm one of those people who starts thinking about the holidays loooong before they are here. Is my house already decorated for Halloween in September? Maybe... I get excited, okay!  These sugar skull cakes are the perfect treat for all your ghoulish needs. One of my favorite options has to be Japanese. There are a lot of Japanese restaurants to pick from around Orlando, but Ginza is one of my all-time favorites. The food is delicious and the prices are super reasonable. A Google search describes Ginza as a "wood-trimmed hibachi grill with interactive cooking, combo meals & a sushi bar with bento boxes".
